Building the Quantum Processor Control System for Europe's Quantum Computer

Zurich Instruments announces today, together with its 9 European partners in the OpenSuperQ project, the goal of building a 100-qubit quantum computer.

Funding was awarded through the EU Research Framework Programme Horizon 2020 and is part of the European Union's large-scale initiative on Quantum Technologies.

The main role of Zurich Instruments within the project is to provide the quantum processor control system that executes the quantum algorithms and reads out the qubit states. Sadik Hafizovic, CEO and co-founder of Zurich Instruments says, "We are happy to contribute a pivotal part of the quantum computer. The entire team at Zurich Instruments is looking forward to applying its know-how in quantum applications, signal processing and software engineering to advance the state of the art in quantum computing.“

This project is part of our commitment to be the global leader for quantum instrumentation and follows on from recent advances towards this objective with the market introduction of the first commercial Quantum Computing Control System, which will be launched very soon.
