For our Research and Development team in Zurich we are looking for an

Hardware Design Engineer Impedance
(Electrical Engineer PhD, Physicist PhD)

You are an expert in designing circuits with state-of-the art tools and testing equipment. You are fascinated by measurement devices that provide ppm accuracy and you have talent in contributing to a team all focused on getting things up and running. This is your chance for working inside a small high-quality R&D team striving for the best-on-market measurement instruments.

In this position, you will be responsible for

  • Design analog circuits for next generation impedance analyzers
  • Modeling of electrical systems and development of calibration and compensation algorithms
  • Closely work within the R&D team with members from hardware, HDL and software
  • Perform hardware development, simulation, layout, bench characterization, and documentation
  • Take the lead in the development of instruments including feasibility studies and specification definition
  • Use PCB CAD tools to produce production-grade PCBs
  • Developing test and calibration procedures for new and existing hardware

To make these endeavors successful, you should bring

  • MSc or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics or related field
  • Expert in modeling of electrical and physical systems in, e.g., SPICE, MATLAB, COMSOL or similar
  • Experience in design and use of analog building blocks like amplifiers, filters, and mixed-signal circuits like ADC's and DAC's
  • Expert in using VNAs, TDRs, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyzers
  • Experience with PCB design tools (Altium)
  • Experience in software development (C++)
  • Proficient in English, additional languages are a plus
